Cambodia Named One of the Best Places to Visit in 2026 by BBC Travel
Cambodia has been recognised by BBC Travel as one of the best places to visit in 2026, highlighting the country’s growing international appeal, sustainable tourism, and cultural revival. Beyond being a rising travel destination, Cambodia is also recognised as one of the top eight countries to earn your CELTA certificate, as highlighted in Emily Monaco’s article, “Top Countries to Earn Your CELTA Certificate” (18 June 2018), making it an ideal place to study and build a teaching career.
In the BBC Travel feature, Phnom Penh was described as entering “a new era” with creative and sustainable developments reshaping the capital city.
The article highlights the launch of Techo International Airport, Cambodia’s largest infrastructure project, which is expected to improve international access with new routes from the UAE, Turkey, China, and Japan. BBC Travel also recognised Phnom Penh’s transformation through projects such as Chaktomuk Walk Street, a pedestrian-friendly riverside area known for Khmer street food, local crafts, and live music, alongside a growing wave of sustainable cafés, boutiques, and creative spaces inspired by Cambodia’s architectural heritage.

BBC Travel also featured Mondulkiri’s conservation tourism, including Jahoo Wildlife Tours and the Elephant Valley Project, reflecting Cambodia’s increasing focus on ethical and sustainable travel experiences.
